Lawfirm Kramer Levin hires ILS experienced partner, Rabinowitz

Lawfirm Kramer Levin Naftalis & Frankel LLP  has announced a new hire to its insurance Practice Group today who brings with him a signficant amount of experience in insurance-linked securities and catastrophe bond legal work. Daniel A. Rabinowitz joins the firm as a partner and will be based in Kramer Levin’s New York office.

Rabinowitz was previously at Chadbourne & Parke LLP and has in recent years specialised in transactional and regulatory legal work for the insurance and reinsurance industry. His specific experience is across insurance and reinsurance mergers and acquisitions, capital markets, restructurings, securitization and structured finance, reorganizations, reinsurance, corporate governance and all aspects of NAIC and state regulatory oversight. Rabinowitz currently serves as Chair of the Committee on Insurance Law at the New York City Bar Association.

Rabinowitz has been involved in numerous insurance company demutualizations and similar conversions, reinsurance transactions, insurance-linked securities and other forms of alternative risk transfer. Specifically, he has worked on numerous catastrophe bond and similar insurance-linked securities, including work for European insurers as well as a U.S. workers compensation fund (which suggests his involvement in Golden State Re Ltd. He has also worked on offerings of mortality-linked notes as well as triple-x financing transactions.
