Willis Re, the reinsurance advisory and broking joint venture between WTW and Bain Capital, has appointed reinsurance and retrocession veteran John Fletcher from Guy Carpenter as Chief Executive Officer of its Bermuda platform, effective immediately.
Fletcher brings more than 35 years of reinsurance and retro experience towards the role and is recognised as one of Bermuda’s most experienced practitioners.
Throughout his career, Fletcher has built extensive expertise in delivering customised reinsurance solutions and developed long-standing relationships with clients and market participants worldwide.
Most recently, Fletcher served as CEO of Bermuda at broker Guy Carpenter, having led the company’s Bermuda operations since 2018.
The executive originally moved to Bermuda in 2013 to lead Guy Carpenter’s property retrocession team.
As CEO of Willis Re Bermuda, Fletcher will hold responsibility for driving business growth and the continued development of the team.
Additionally, he will also oversee both the execution and implementation of strategic plans aligned with the broker’s objectives, and have oversight of all operational activities, where he will work to ensure that the business remains agile and responsive to evolving market dynamics.
