Solid returns generated by the insurance-linked securities (ILS) market in recent years have encouraged investors to maintain or increase their allocations, leading rating agency AM Best to highlight third-party reinsurance capital as an increasingly important part of global reinsurance capacity.

IRB (Re), the Brazilian reinsurance company, has renamed its special purpose insurer and issuer of Letra de Risco de Seguro, the local brand of insurance-linked securities, to align it with the group name, now becoming IRB (SSPE).

RenaissanceRe Capital Partners, the specialist third-party capital management division of the reinsurer, lifted its partnering investor capital managed across joint-venture reinsurance and insurance-linked securities strategies by around 5.5% over the last year, to end June 2026 with $8.54 billion of assets under management.
