Hiscox Capital Partners, the division of Hiscox Re that encompasses management of third-party capital in insurance-linked securities (ILS) investments and quota-share partnerships, has appointed Michel Dang as Portfolio Manager.
Back in February, Hiscox Re, the reinsurance division of Hiscox Group launched Hiscox Capital Partners as a new business unit to consolidate all the capital partnership activity the company has managed for nearly two decades, including third-party capital and ILS.
Based in London, Michel Dang an experienced figure within the ILS industry, has joined Hiscox Capital Partners this month.
His previous position was at SCOR Investment Partners, the asset management arm of the French reinsurance group which also manages a range of insurance-linked securities (ILS) funds, where he served as an Investment Analyst.
Dang joined SCOR Investment Partners following the company’s acquisition of his employer, the ILS asset manager Coriolis Capital Limited, with that deal happening in late 2019.
During his tenures at Coriolis Capital beginning in 2018 and thereafter at SCOR Investment Partners, Dang gained valuable experience and expertise within the ILS market, in portfolio management and analytics.
Between 2016 to 2018, Dang worked at consultancy Dar Al-Handasah (Shair and Partners), where he served as a Financial Modeler, and was responsible for designing, building and delivering transactions and operating financial models and financial tools for investment, securitization, bidding, pricing, evaluation and other financial decisions for various projects and services.
Dang also previously worked as an Intern Analyst at BNP Paribas Investment Partners, which later rebranded to BNP Paribas Asset Management.
Recall that Hiscox Capital Partners grew its overall ILS assets under management (AUM) to $2.9 billion as of July 1st 2026.
