RenaissanceRe Capital Partners hires Briggs as Head of Risk

RenaissanceRe Capital Partners, the third-party capital management and insurance-linked securities (ILS) unit of Bermuda-headquartered reinsurance firm RenaissanceRe (RenRe), hired Lucy Briggs as Vice President and Head of Risk earlier this year.

Briggs joined the RenaissanceRe Capital Partners team from her most recent role at Willis Towers Watson in June.

In the Head of Risk role, Briggs will provide independent risk oversight for Capital Partners across all of its managed third-party reinsurance capital vehicles.

Briggs has more than 15 years of actuarial experience in the property and casualty sector.

She worked as a Director at Willis Towers Watson in Bermuda before moving to RenRe, having spent more than 10 years at the company working in a range of roles, with an actuarial and risk capital focus, including in London.

Prior to that, Briggs worked at Aviva, UK as an actuarial trainee.

During her career, Briggs has gained a wide range of industry experience, working on a variety of risk, capital and valuation projects across insurance, reinsurance, and insurance linked securities.
