Jared Madea joins TigerRisk Capital Markets & Advisory from Willis

TigerRisk Partners LLC has hired an insurance and reinsurance capital markets and investment banking executive from rival Willis, adding Jared Madea to the privately held risk/capital management and strategic advisory firm’s TigerRisk Capital Markets & Advisory unit.

In the new role Madea will advise insurance and reinsurance firms on mergers and acquisitions and capital markets fund raising or risk transfer products. He will report directly to Tony Ursano, President of TigerRisk, who also joined the firm from Willis Capital Markets & Advisory.

TigerRisk is gradually building out its Capital Markets & Advisory unit, seeking to create an integrated approach to reinsurance and capital markets advisory and risk transfer services. This latest hire will assist the broker in reaching that goal.

“I have worked with Jarad for 12 years and he is a highly successful investment banker with over 50 insurance M&A and capital raising transactions to his credit,” commented Ursano. “He has a proven track record of leadership, origination and execution and will be a tremendous asset to TigerRisk and our clients. Madea began his career at Banc of America Securities in the Financial Institutions Investment Banking Group where he executed a wide range of transactions including M&A, equity, hybrid securities and debt.

He further developed his insurance and reinsurance industry expertise as a Senior Vice President at Willis Capital Markets & Advisory, where he originated and led numerous sell- and buy-side M&A deals, advised Willis Re brokerage clients on capital markets solutions such as securities and ILS and developed strong relationships with a variety of insurance focused investors.

Madea will be headquartered at TigerRisk’s New York office.
