Insurance and reinsurance brokerage Aon has named Vince Barrett as the new Regional Managing Director EMEA for its Captive & Insurance Management business.
The Aon Captive and Insurance Management business also encompasses much of its insurance management work for the insurance-linked securities (ILS) sector, where the company manages ILS vehicles, including catastrophe bond issuers, transformers and other collateralised reinsurance entities, on behalf clients.
In addition, the Captive and Insurance Management business at Aon also encompasses the firms own risk transformer, the White Rock protected cell company, which Barrett previously led in EMEA. He has also had a key role in helping to develop the Aon ILS management operation over recent years.
Barrett moves from move from his previous role as Chief Commercial Officer to take on the new role with responsibility for leading the Captive and Insurance Management group’s regional operations across EMEA.
Barrett will also continue to play the role of account chair for numerous complex global client accounts, Aon said, as well as lead the captive business development team across the EMEA region.

Barrett will take on the role from his base in Dublin and continue to report to John English, as well as working in close partnership with Aon’s leadership teams across the EMEA region.
