Arch Re promoted Roberts to Head of ILS, hired Neyme as ILS Portfolio Manager

Arch Re, the global reinsurance arm of Arch Capital group, has promoted Christian Roberts as its new Head of ILS and hired Cyril Neyme as an ILS Portfolio Manager, with both of these moves happening in July this year.

Roberts has worked in the insurance-linked securities unit at Arch Re in Bermuda since joining the company in 2024.

He joined the reinsurer as an ILS Portfolio Manager, with responsibilities for developing and managing portfolios of reinsurance related risks in ILS structures, for third-party investors to allocate capital to.

We understand that Roberts’ direct manager Allan Voltz had been promoted to lead the Arch US mortgage insurance division, after which the company opted to promote Roberts and put him in place its first Head of Insurance-Linked Securities within its reinsurance division.

Prior to joining Arch Re in 2024, Roberts had worked for more than eight years in roles at two leading insurance-linked securities (ILS) investment manager’s, first at Securis Investment Partners and before the move to Arch at Aeolus Capital Management. He began his career as a trainee reinsurance broker at Guy Carpenter.

With Roberts moving up to become Head of ILS, we understand Arch Re hired a new portfolio manager for its insurance-linked securities activities around the same time.

Cyril Neyme joined Arch Re as ILS Portfolio Manager in July and relocated to Bermuda, having previously spent over twelve years working at reinsurer SCOR, most recently in New York.

At SCOR, Neyme worked in a range of roles, across property and casualty reinsurance, latterly becoming SVP and Head of North America Reinsurance, Alternative Solutions at the company. Before his tenure at SCOR, Neyme had worked as an actuary at a number of consultancies.

We believe both changes may still be subject to necessary immigration approvals in Bermuda.

Evidencing Arch’s expanding ILS business, we recently reported that investment manager Eaton Vance has recently allocated to Arch Capital’s structure named Voussoir Re Ltd. within some of its mutual multi-asset strategy funds.

The company also recently promoted insurance-linked securities and retrocession operations specialist Bryan Lynch to the role of Head of ILS Experience and Operations.
