Digital risk trading insurtech start-up Akinova has secured an investment boost from reinsurance firm Hiscox Re and the venture arm of Japanese insurance holding company MS&AD.

Paul Jardine, of Catlin and XL Catlin experience, is the latest senior figure to join the advisory board of digital risk trading insurtech start-up Akinova.

An insurance-linked securities (ILS) vehicle has been listed on the Bermuda Stock Exchange (BSX) that will ultimately house transactions entered into on the Tullett Prebon owned Insurance Linked Notes issuance and trading platform.

Tullett Prebon, a leading electronic and voice interdealer broker and part of the TP ICAP group, has launched a new issuance and trading platform for what it has termed Insurance Linked Notes, initially featuring catastrophe industry-loss instruments that will be fully-securitised to have the benefits of secondary liquidity.

Digital risk trading insurtech start-up Akinova, which promises a digital platform for trading insurance and reinsurance risks and will begin with an industry-loss warranty (ILW) type product, has appointed Thomas Heise of Insurance Income Strategies (IIS) to its advisory board.

Akinova, a digital risk trading insurtech start-up that is developing a platform where insurance and reinsurance related risk can be traded, has added another senior advisor in Susan Estes, a Wall Street veteran, as well as co-founder and CEO of bond trading platform OpenDoor.

Digital risk trading start-up Akinova, which is developing an “electronic marketplace for the transfer and trading of (re)insurance risks,” has signed up Pierre Francotte, the former CEO of Euroclear as an advisor.
