Re/insurer MS Amlin has again returned to the capital markets for a fifth renewal of its collateralized catastrophe quota share reinsurance sidecar vehicle Phoenix Re and it takes the sidecar platform to its largest yet at $90 million for 2025.

Although Christian Bruns, Partner and Portfolio Manager at LGT ILS Partners Ltd., noted that transacting cyber risk in an excess-of-loss format may not currently be in the best interest of the firm’s investors, he highlighted the potential to transact the risk in a quota-share format through its in-house rated reinsurance carrier, Lumen Re.

More Australian pension super funds have begun allocating to insurance-linked securities (ILS), according to Bloomberg, as the publisher names Rest Super and Host Plus as allocating to the space. Artemis has learned that Rest Super has invested with manager Twelve Capital for catastrophe bonds.
