London headquartered insurance-linked securities (ILS) and reinsurance related investments manger Leadenhall Capital Partners LLP has added a new Portfolio Manager hire, employing Lionel Daniele who has more than fifteen years’ experience in investment banking and trading.
Leadenhall confirmed Daniele’s hire, saying that he joined the firm in November in the role of Portfolio Manager.
The company also confirmed the departure of Portfolio Manager Hamza Khan, who has returned to Australia for personal reasons.
Daniele joins the ILS manager at an important time, with reinsurance and ILS rates having risen and Leadenhall Capital Partners sitting as one of the largest asset managers in the insurance-linked securities (ILS) space with over $5.5 billion of ILS and reinsurance under management.
His background in trading and investment banking comes from positions held with Societe Generale, where he worked in increasingly senior roles across credit, CDS, banking and insurance related bond trading.
In 2016 Daniele moved to Deutsche Bank, working as an emerging market credit trader for just over one year, before moving to the investment bank Credit Suisse and working as a CDS trader focused on corporate credits.
At Leadenhall, Daniele will focus on managing and trading insurance and reinsurance linked instruments including catastrophe bonds, other private ILS transactions and credit deals.
