AXIS Re, the global reinsurance underwriting unit of AXIS Capital Holdings Limited, has established a new property reinsurance focused division that will be led by Ann Haugh, while also naming segment Presidents for its four core divisions.
AXIS Re has appointed four divisional Presidents, as it simplifies its structure and looks to align its operating model with opportunities in the current reinsurance market.
Ann Haugh, previously AXIS Re’s President of Global Markets, has been named President of the newly formed Global Property reinsurance division, taking responsibility for leading property underwriting on a global basis.
Andy Hottinger has been named President of AXIS Re’s International Division, which will combine the EMEA, LatAm and Asia Pacific Divisions into a single International Division. Les Loh is set to continue in his role as President of Asia Pacific, and lead that market, reporting to Hottinger.
Jonathan Gray has been promoted to President of the Specialties Division, formerly known as the Global Markets division. Gray will lead Specialty lines on a global basis, including Agriculture, Aviation, Credit & Surety, Marine, and Mortgage reinsurance underwriting. He will now report directly to Steve Arora, AXIS Re CEO, and join the Reinsurance Leadership Team. Gray had previously held the role of Head of Lloyd’s for AXIS Re.
Jason Busti is named President of the North America Division, taking on the additional responsibility of leading the AXIS Re Strategic Partners client initiative as well.

With AXIS managing third-party reinsurance capital through its so-called Strategic Capital Partners initiatives, the underwriting of these global reinsurance divisions will often call on support from these investor-backed structures and transactions.
