Insurance and reinsurance broker Aon has appointed Anup Seth as Global Leader, Underwriting Solutions within its Captive and Insurance Management unit, a role that will see him leading across captives and insurance-linked securities (ILS) management operations around the world.
Seth was hired by Aon back in 2016 to the role of Managing Director of Aon Insurance Managers (Bermuda) Ltd., the unit that has a focus on captives, insurance-linked securities (ILS) and reinsurance convergence vehicles.
Aon said that it is further aligning these operations to position itself for future growth, with this new Underwriting Solutions line a reflection of the continued convergence of commercial reinsurance and insurance linked securities (ILS).
John English, CEO of Aon’s Captive & Insurance Management operations said, “I am pleased to announce that in addition to his current role as managing director of our Bermuda operations, Anup Seth will assume responsibility for leading our newly created underwriting solutions line that includes our global commercial re/insurance, White Rock and ILS management businesses.
“Anup has achieved impressive results in the Bermuda market over the past three years and his commercial market experience and track record of delivering growth will be key to driving further success.”
The unit assists with the set-up, administration and management of vehicles for transactions ranging from catastrophe bonds through to collateralised reinsurance and also operates the segregated accounts company White Rock, which facilitates investor access to reinsurance transactions and provides a platform for collateralised reinsurance.
Commenting on the appointment Seth said, “I am delighted to lead our global Underwriting Solutions line which integrates our Commercial Re/insurance, White Rock and ILS businesses and was created in response to our clients’ underwriting needs. Our comprehensive value proposition, enabled by technology, data & analytics, will support our clients as they continue to strive for an efficient operating model.”
In the new role, Seth will work closely with other Aon leaders, including: Paul Sykes, MD, Aon Guernsey; Dermot Finnerty, MD, White Rock Group; and Steve Britton, MD, Global ILS Management.
