Walkers Corporate (Bermuda) Limited, a provider of corporate services and unit of the law firm of the same name, has joined the Bermuda Stock Exchange (BSX) as a listing sponsor, with insurance-linked securities (ILS) such as catastrophe bonds just one of the instruments they expect to assist clients with.
Greg Wojciechowski, BSX President & CEO, commented on the news, “We are delighted to welcome Walkers Corporate (Bermuda) Limited as the newest Listing Sponsor of the BSX. We welcome the Walkers practice to Bermuda and look forward to working with the firm going forward.

The Bermuda Stock Exchange (BSX) remains the world’s leading location of listing of insurance-linked securities (ILS), from catastrophe bonds to reinsurance sidecar notes, with its ILS listings breaking records in 2017 with $26 billion of transaction volume housed on the Exchange.

For some investors a listing can make ILS an even more appealing asset class to invest in. The listing on a recognised exchange, such as the BSX, also assists with secondary liquidity and provides an added level of rigour and transparency for ILS transactions, to the benefit of the asset class.
