Securis Investment Partners, a London based investment firm who participate in the insurance-linked securities market, have announced that Al Selius ex-managing director at Swiss Re Capital Markets is joining their company. Selius will be heading up their New York office. Selius has years of experience in ILS, cat bonds and helped develop the standardised ISDA CAT swap documentation. He’ll be missed at Swiss Re.
It’s interesting to see this trend of reinsurance personnel moving into the investment and hedge fund side of the market. Many participants in these markets believe that investors are going to lead the continued resurgence of the market and having skilled and knowledgeable staff investment houses will put themselves in leading positions in the eyes of investors.
