Global reinsurance broker Howden Re has hired Matthew Overall as Managing Director, Retro, in a London-based role, where he is expected to play a key role in the continued growth of the company’s global retrocession platform.
Overall will begin his new position in 2027, following the completion of his contractual obligations with broker Guy Carpenter, his current employer.
Overall is joining Howden Re following close to nine years of service at Guy Carpenter.
During his tenure at Guy Carpenter, Overall has served in various leadership roles within Non-Marine Specialties, Global Specialties, with his latest position being Managing Director in that division.
In that time he will have brokered business with collateralized retrocession markets and worked on arrangements including industry-loss warranties (ILW).
Prior to joining Guy Carpenter, Overall spent four years working as a Reinsurance Broker at Aon.
In his new position at Howden Re, Overall will report to Alex Bridges, who serves as CEO Global Retro, at the firm.
