Reinsurance broker Guy Carpenter has announced two senior European appointments, adding a new CEO to its France operation and a Managing Director for reinsurance Treaty Broking in the Benelux.
Christophe Gaudron has been promoted to CEO, Guy Carpenter France, effective January 1st 2022.
He joined the reinsurance broker in 2010 and became Deputy CEO of Guy Carpenter France in 2014. Before joining the company he held managerial positions at rival Aon Benfield.
As CEO France, Gaudron will have responsibility for the oversight of all Guy Carpenter broking activities across the French market, leveraging the reinsurance brokers global capabilities to provide clients with enhanced risk transfer solutions. He will be based in Paris and report to Massimo Reina, CEO, Europe, Guy Carpenter.
Reina commented, “This transition demonstrates the depth of talent we have at Guy Carpenter. Christophe has an excellent track record of delivering value and results to our clients and has contributed greatly to our growth in the region. He succeeds Philippe who has achieved incredible success in the role, and I am fully confident Christophe will continue to build on that success, to the benefit of our clients and the wider market. I am grateful to Philippe for his hard work and for making Guy Carpenter the broker of choice in the French marketplace.”
Gaudron’s promotion comes as Phillippe Renault, the current CEO, Guy Carpenter France steps back from the position but will continue in his role as Chairman, Guy Carpenter Europe.
The second appointment announced this morning is Michel den Boer as Managing Director, Treaty Broking, Guy Carpenter Benelux, who takes up this role immediately.
den Boer joins Guy Carpenter from rival reinsurance broker Willis Re, where he was an Executive Director and Treaty Broker within its Continental Europe division, focused on the Netherlands.
den Boer’s appointment is part of Guy Carpenter’s ongoing expansion strategy for the Benelux region. Based in Rotterdam, he will work primarily in the Dutch market and will report to Patrick Schepens, CEO, Guy Carpenter Benelux.
His appointment is seen as a way to reinforce the brokers market presence in Benelux reinsurance and den Boer brings an in-depth knowledge of the Dutch reinsurance market where he has over 30 years experience.
Schepens commented on this new hire, “Michel is a highly respected market practitioner in the Dutch and international markets. Throughout his career, he has excelled in achieving strong growth through delivering client-focused solutions. That combination of experience, market insight and service dedication will be integral to continuing to elevate our client offering and reinforcing our position as a leading reinsurance broker in the Dutch market.”
