Reinsurance broker Guy Carpenter has made a senior appointment for the Asia Pacific region, hiring Michael Harden from rival Willis Re for the role of President, Asia Pacific.
Harden has a more than 45 year career in insurance and reinsurance, with roughly three decades spent at Willis Re.
In that time he was held roles including the CEO of Willis Re Bermuda and was most recently President, Asia Pacific for the company.
Harden joins Guy Carpenter with immediate effect as President of Asia Pacific, although he had been signalled as moving to the firm roughly a year ago.

Harden will be tasked with working with Guy Carpenter’s network of offices in the Asia Pacific region, helping to expand the range and enhance delivery of services, strategic solutions and differentiated value to clients.
He will report to Tony Gallagher, CEO of Asia Pacific, Guy Carpenter.
