Reinsurance broker Guy Carpenter has announced the hire of well-known executive Andrea Piatti to the role of Managing Director within its Global Risk Solutions division.
Piatti had most recently worked as Head of European M&A at Armour Risk Management Ltd, prior to which he held senior roles at MS Amlin, Amlin Re Europe and Partner Re.
As from August 3rd, Piatti will take on responsibility for for originating and driving opportunities to better serve Guy Carpenter’s clients with customised reinsurance solutions across Europe and MENA.
Based in Zurich, Piatti will be focused on solutions including structured reinsurance treaties and capital management or solvency-related transactions.
Piatti will work alongside Guy Carpenter’s broking and analytics teams across the region, reporting to Frank Achtert, Head of Strategic Advisory, EMEA, and Ronnie Carroll, Managing Director, Global Risk Solutions.
His expertise in structured reinsurance and legacy risk transactions, as well as his more than 20 years experience will be brought to the role.

Piatti has expertise in the insurance-linked securities (ILS) space gained while working at Swiss Re as a structurer in 2006, where he worked on catastrophe bonds and derivatives transactions. He also has experience in catastrophe risk transactions
Guy Carpenter said that it is looking to enhance the brokerages ability to offer these customised reinsurance solutions at this time, as clients aim to further optimise their reinsurance programs.
