Credit Suisse ILS unit adds insurance M&A specialist David Grill

Share

The Credit Suisse Asset Management insurance-linked securities (ILS) and reinsurance linked investments team has added experienced insurance mergers and acquisitions (M&A) specialist banker David Grill to its team.

David Grill joined the CSAM ILS team recently, having been with Credit Suisse as a managing director covering insurance M&A and other capital markets activities since September 2006.

Grill is said to be joining the CSAM ILS team, which currently manages approximately $6.5 billion of insurance-linked assets, to help the unit explore expansion opportunities in the space.

The CSAM ILS team has already been expansive in its use of new initiatives to access risk in the ILS and reinsurance space, establishing activities at Lloyd’s of London as well as a rated reinsurer in Guernsey.

As CSAM continues to grow and innovate within reinsurance linked investing and ILS, it will be interesting to see what initiatives may emerge as a result of an M&A expert moving to the team.

The Wall Street Journal first revealed the move last week, but this has now been confirmed to Artemis by a CSAM representative.
