Severe convective storm (SCS) insured losses in the United States are projected to be below average in 2026 based on recorded losses seen in the first half of the year, according to catastrophe risk modeler Karen Clark & Company (KCC).

Artex Axcell Re, the Bermuda domiciled Artex Risk Solutions operated risk transformer entity, has issued another new private catastrophe bond transaction, with $60 million of Artex Axcell Re (Series FE0004) notes coming to market.

GC Securities, the investment banking and capital markets arm of reinsurance broker Guy Carpenter, worked on 20 catastrophe bonds in the first-half of 2026, totalling $5 billion of limit, a record for the broker, according to CEO Dean Klisura.
