Twelve Capital hires two to strengthen ESG & climate investment focus

Specialist catastrophe bond, insurance-linked securities (ILS) and reinsurance investment manager Twelve Capital has announced two new hires that bring sustainable and climate investing expertise to the company.

Both of the particularly experienced professionals have specific expertise in managing investments in the area of climate change.

Daniel King-Robinson and Tobias Engeli have both joined Twelve Capital in September 2021.

Both were previously at EFG Bank, where they were equity advisors, managing the global recommended equity lists as well as a number of actively managed certificates and several large client mandates.

Both King-Robinson and Engeli have previously developed and managed several climate change focused investment products in their careers, which will prove valuable expertise for Twelve Capital as it increases its focus on sustainable investing, environmental, social and governance (ESG) opportunities, and climate change related strategies.

Twelve Capital expects these hires to strengthen its focus on climate change and ESG across its portfolios for institutional clients.

The company explained that climate sustainability is an essential contributor for delivering long-term economic success and meeting its clients’ financial objectives.

There is also an opportunity in insurance-linked securities (ILS) to develop climate risk focused investment funds, which could be strongly applicable to ESG investor mandates.
