According to the latest news reports and a statement by the local fire chief, more than 1,100 structures are said to have been destroyed by the wildfires that continue to burn out of control in the Los Angeles, California suburbs.

Aon Securities, the investment banking and insurance-linked securities (ILS) specialist arm of the insurance and reinsurance broker, is anticipating a strong start to catastrophe bond and ILS market activity in 2025, with a “vibrant” market and plenty of deal flow forecasted.

Inigo Insurance has returned to the catastrophe bond market to sponsor its fourth issuance, with a $100 million initial target for this Montoya Re Ltd.
