Stubbings appointed Chairman of Miller Bermuda to drive reinsurance & retro growth

Miller, the independent specialist re/insurance broker has appointed Peter Stubbings, a renowned reinsurance and retrocession broking team leader as Chairman of Miller Bermuda, where he will support the continued growth of the firm’s reinsurance and retro offering across the Bermuda market.

Stubbings joins the firm with over four decades of reinsurance industry experience. He also brings a deep level of expertise across multiple lines of business and a wealth of client relationships across London, Bermuda, the Caribbean and the Nordics.

He joins Miller from McGill and Partners, the boutique risk solutions and broking firm, where he served as Bermuda Chief Executive Officer (CEO) from 2023.

Prior to that, Stubbings held the role of CEO of Global ReSpecialty at Aon, a broking division that has a particular focus on global retrocession opportunities, including industry-loss warranties (ILW’s) as well as other ILS fund or capital markets backed retro products.

The executive took on that role in January 2019, prior to which he had worked at broker Guy Carpenter as Chairman of Bermuda for four years, and CEO of Continental Europe for the five years before that.

Drawing on his long-standing relationships with reinsurance clients, Miller noted that in his new role, Stubbings will support new business generation by facilitating cross-selling opportunities between AHJ Miller, Miller’s reinsurance division, and the wider Miller Bermuda business.
