Robus, the insurance management, fiduciary and financial advisory firm that is part of the wider Ardonagh insurance and reinsurance Group, has named Jamie Polson as the new leader of its Robus Guernsey office.
Polson has been promoted, in recognition of his efforts at the firm, having previously held the role of Director and General Manager.
Polson has managed a diverse range of licensed insurance vehicles, including some of the largest captives in Guernsey.
Alongside this, he has also managed many commercial general insurers and reinsurers.
Polson also has years of experience as a director on protected cell company structures (PCCs) that had been set up for the provision of insurance-linked securities (ILS).
He began his career in private banking with Coutts, moving into the insurance industry in 2001 and has been a Board member with Robus since joining the company in 2014.
Polson commented, “I am delighted to have been promoted to Managing Director of Robus Guernsey. The Robus Guernsey team is made up of skilled and experienced professionals who provide flexibility, innovation and excellent service to a large range of insurance clients. I am proud to lead this team and excited for the opportunity. Robus has achieved excellent growth in new business over the last two years and my goal is to continue this trend, with a particular focus on captive insurers under management.”
Steve Quinn, Executive Chairman of Robus Group, added, “I am delighted to formally announce Jamie’s appointment and it is of course recognition of the diligence and loyalty applied in his previous role as Director over the last few years. The Robus Guernsey team has gone from strength to strength under Jamie’s leadership and the future will very much be more of the same. Guernsey is a key part of the Robus Group and will form an increasingly important part of the Ardonagh Group in meeting client needs.”
Since the acquisition of Robus by the Ardonagh Group in December 2020, the insurance management specialist has continued to operate independently, but benefits from access to a wide network of insurance distribution expertise.
