Maria (Wittman) Rapin, an experienced insurance-linked security (ILS) portfolio manager and reinsurance capital markets executive, is joining the largest ILS, catastrophe and weather risk asset manager Nephila Capital.
Rapin has joined Nephila’s San Francisco, California office which will take the number of Nephila staff in its California office to ten. The new position will see Rapin focused on investor relations and general business development for Nephila.
Barney Schauble, a Managing Partner at Nephila Advisors LLC and based at the San Francisco office, told Artemis; “We have known Maria for a long time and are delighted she will be joining us.”
Prior to this move, Rapin worked as an ILS portfolio manager with SCOR Global Investments in Paris for two years. Prior to that Rapin worked for Swiss Re Capital Markets in London, working on ILS distribution, before which she was based in New York for the reinsurer.
