PERILS AG, the Zurich-based provider of industry-wide European catastrophe insurance exposure, industry loss data and indices, has published a second loss estimate for European windstorm Tini, increasing the initial estimate slightly from €245m to €253m.
European windstorm Tini, also known as Darwin in some countries of Europe, impacted the UK and Ireland on 12th and 13th February 2014, with the majority of the losses occurring in those two countries.
After the event PERILS’ announced an initial estimate of the insured property market loss for Tini of €245m. Today it has announced a small increase to €253m (approximately £206m or $350m) based on ultimate gross loss data as reported by primary insurance companies.
