Moody’s hires PCS’ Alex Mican for ILS advisory and business development

Alex Mican, the former Head of PCS Global Strategy and Growth at Verisk, has now joined Moody’s in a role focused on insurance-linked securities (ILS) advisory and business development.

Mican has joined the Moody’s Insurance Advisory team as a Director and will be tasked with helping to continue to work with market participant and investor clients to help them better-understand and engage in ILS, using Moody’s services.

As we reported first, Mican ended his tenure at Verisk’s Property Claim Services (PCS) unit last week, having worked in the unit since 2016, becoming the lead for all client-facing activity in 2023, as well as new product and market development and the primary touchpoint for reinsurance and insurance linked securities (ILS) activities that PCS undertook.

In his new role at Moody’s, Mican will leverage the firm’s data, analytics, and solutions to support the growth of the ILS market.

He will assist clients and prospects in the ILS sector, as well as other capacity providers, to build on Moody’s stature in the alternative risk transfer space.

Moody’s said that Mican’s “strategic insight and leadership will be invaluable” as the company “continues to innovate and expand its ILS market solutions.”
