Lutece Investment Management Ltd., a retrocession and reinsurance focused specialist investment manager, has added another senior hire in Cornell Fox (who was previously at AlphaCat and Validus) who joined the firm in recent weeks in the role of Head of Investor Relations.
Fox spent a number of years working at insurance and reinsurance firm Hiscox in reinsurance operations and claims, before joining Validus owned ILS specialist manager AlphaCat Managers where he spent 3 years working in investment relations and analysis.
He then went on to work for AlphaCat’s parent Validus Holdings Ltd. as an Associate in Corporate Development for almost 2 years.

Cornell joins us from the Validus Group following 5 years in Corporate Development and investor Relations roles with Validus Holdings and AlphaCat respectively. Together with the rest of the Lutece Team, Cornell will join BTG Pactual Asset Management and will continue to be based in Bermuda.”
Lutece was founded by Manning, an experienced ILS structuring and broking specialist who had most recently been with Aon Benfield, alongside Angus Ayliffe, who was most recent Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at reinsurer Ariel Re in Bermuda.
The Lutece team was then brought in-house by investment house BTG Pactual, deepening an already existing relationship by making Lutece its in-house specialist ILS investment management unit and launching a strategy named Retro Opportunities.
Lutece is steadily building out its platform and an experienced team, as it ramps up for further growth towards the end of this year.
