HSCM Bermuda adds ex-Montpelier Re CEO Harris to advisory board

HSCM Bermuda, the reinsurance investment management business arm of Hudson Structured Capital Management Ltd., has signed up Chris Harris, the former CEO of Bermuda reinsurance firm Montpelier Re, to its advisory board.

With immediate effect, Harris will join insurance-linked securities (ILS), reinsurance and transportation focused investment manager Hudson Structured as an advisor focused on HSCM Bermuda’s Re/insurance Strategy.

Harris is a high-profile name in the world of reinsurance, in particular in Bermuda where he led Montpelier Re Holdings Ltd. as Chief Executive Officer, President and Executive Director.

Harris also has oversight experience in the insurance-linked securities (ILS) and collateralised reinsurance space, having sat as the Chairman of Blue Capital Reinsurance Holdings, the ILS management unit of Montpelier Re.

He spent thirteen years at Montpelier Re, building it into a specialist reinsurance underwriter and seeing it through to a sale to fellow Bermudian re/insurance company Endurance Holdings.

Before his time with Montpelier, Harris worked in senior positions at KPMG and Wausau Insurance Company. He’s also a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society, a Chartered Financial Analyst, and a Chartered Property & Casualty Underwriter.
