Elementum Advisors, LLC, the insurance-linked securities (ILS) fund management and collateralised reinsurance underwriter, has announced the hiring of Todor Todorov, who most recently worked at Willis Towers Watson in its Investment Manager Research team.
Todorov led Willis Towers Watson’s Investment Manager Research team’s activities in the insurance-linked securities (ILS) space and is well-known in the market and among institutional investors exploring what ILS has to offer as an asset class.
In joining Elementum, Todorov takes on the role of Vice President, Business Development & Investor Relations (BDIR).
He has more than a decade of experience working in the analysis of insurance-linked securities (ILS) investment strategies and working with investor clients.
As a member of Elementum’s BDIR team, Todorov’s hire is expected to enhance the management of client relationships and investor education, as well as contribute to broader product and ILS investment strategy development.

Todorov had worked at Willis Towers Watson for more than 12 years, having joined the firm in London and subsequently moved to its New York office.
Within the WTW investment consultant practice, Todorov was responsible for manager research covering hedge funds and alternative investment strategies, with a particular focus on ILS. Most recently he also became a member of the firm’s Hedge Fund Investment Committee.

Todorov’s hiring comes on the heels of the departure of Elementum Advisors Partner Ben Somers, who headed up Business Development and Investor Relations during his more than 11 years at the investment manager but left the firm at the end of 2020.
