American International Group (AIG) has made two senior reinsurance related appointments, as it continues to underline the importance of reinsurance on both inwards and outwards sides of its book.
First, Elaine Rocha has been promoted to Global Chief Operating Officer, Reinsurance at AIG.
Rocha has worked at AIG for eleven years, most recently as Chief of Staff to the Office of the CEO.
The Global Chief Operating Officer, Reinsurance position is newly created at AIG and Rocha will be reporting directly to Kean Driscoll, Global Head of Reinsurance Strategy and Head of Global Portfolio Management in the AIG General Insurance division.
AIG said that the new position has been created with a specific desire to advance what it sees as a key strategic area of operations.
Also promoted this month, John Klaus has taken on the role of Global Head of Reinsurance Placement.
Klaus has worked at AIG since 2015 and worked his way up through Senior Reinsurance Officer, to Reinsurance Director and now this new role with a global oversight of reinsurance placements at AIG.
Previously, Klaus had been a Director of Reinsurance Placement at Travelers and before that a Director of Ceded Reinsurance at Prosight.
