Acrisure Re, the reinsurance and insurance division of global fintech Acrisure, has integrated its Capital and Captives division to create an end-to-end platform, as the company seeks to meet growing demand for alternative risk solutions.
According to the announcement, the newly formed division, Acrisure Re Capital and Captives, will be led by Seth Denson, Head of Captives, who will report to Simon Hedley, Global CEO of Acrisure Re.
Acrisure Re Capital and Captives reportedly brings together more than 275 captive specialists across North America and Bermuda into a single platform, combining an established captives business with the capabilities of a specialist reinsurance broker within a single structure.
The division will help further strengthen Acrisure Re’s market offering across three connected pillars: Reinsurance (including programs), Corporate Advisory through Acrisure Re Corporate Advisory and Solutions (ARCAS), and Capital and Captives.
“Together, supported by Acrisure Re’s global analytics and cat modeling expertise, these capabilities create a single, coordinated platform that differentiates the business from other reinsurance brokers,” Acrisure Re said.
Moreover, Acrisure Re describes the Capital and Captives business as an already well-established operation across the United States and Bermuda. The company views the integration as a strategic step aimed at enabling further growth.
Within the Property and Casualty (P&C) market, Acrisure Re notes that the Capital and Captives division will seek growth across both group and single-parent captives. The company reportedly plans to focus on sourcing opportunities, arranging reinsurance placements, and generating business for its reinsurance partners.
By combining captive structuring with reinsurance origination, Acrisure Re positions this offering as distinct from traditional reinsurance brokers and captive managers. The division is also expected to collaborate with issuing carriers to deliver comprehensive captive programmes for organisations pursuing self-insurance and alternative risk financing strategies.
Acrisure Re Capital and Captives also includes an established segregated cell capability, which Acrisure Re states allows for flexible and capital-efficient structures across both Life and Health and Property and Casualty lines, supporting solutions tailored to client risk profiles and business objectives.
Moreover, Acrisure Re also noted that that the new platform will provide clients with comprehensive solutions across the full program lifecycle, including feasibility studies and programme design, captive formation and licensing, regulatory coordination, ongoing management, governance, actuarial support, and access to reinsurance and capital markets.
“Integration within Acrisure Re’s reinsurance platform gives clients and markets access to structuring expertise, placement capabilities, and reinsurance trading relationships, combining the strengths of two established businesses into a more cohesive offering,” Acrisure Re said.
Simon Hedley, Global CEO of Acrisure Re, commented: “Capital and Captives is already a highly successful business, particularly in L&H, where it has built a leading position in one of the most dynamic growth segments in the U.S. Bringing it into Acrisure Re creates something highly compelling: the platform, relationships, and reinsurance capabilities of Acrisure Re, combined with deep captive expertise and a proven track record.
“In P&C, we see a significant runway ahead, both in growing our captive programs and in creating meaningful flow for our reinsurance trading partners. Seth is the right leader to drive this next chapter, and I am confident in the strength of the team we have assembled around him.”
Seth Denson, Head of Captives, Acrisure Re, added: “We are entering this integration from a position of strength. Our Life & Health captive business is already a proven leader, not by replicating existing market solutions, but by addressing needs the market has historically overlooked. That level of insight and innovation, combined with the capabilities of Acrisure Re, positions us to scale even further.
“In the Property & Casualty market, the opportunity is substantial. As we have done in Life & Health, we will take a proactive approach to creating new opportunities, strengthening relationships with key issuing carriers, and developing tailored insurance solutions across both group and single-parent captive structures. Our segregated cell infrastructure adds a level of flexibility that differentiates us in how we design and deliver solutions. As part of Acrisure Re, we are fully equipped to build and scale a market-leading platform.”
