It’s the 1st of June and all involved our markets will know what that means; tropical storm and hurricane season officially starts today.
I say officially, as actually the first Atlantic region tropical storm of the season actually happened on the 31st May, yesterday. Tropical Storm Arthur brewed up suddenly off the coast of the Yucatan peninsula and is making it’s way slowly across the peninsula with the biggest threat being rainfall accumulations of up to 10 inches in some areas which could cause significant flooding and potentially mudslides.
It’s quite unusual to have a storm this early in the season, could this be a warning of things to come?
Keep an eye on our 2008 storm season page for updates, tracking maps, forecasts and more. It will be updated as storms occur for you.
