This report reviews the catastrophe bond and insurance-linked securities (ILS) market at the end of the third-quarter of 2023, looking at new risk capital issued and the composition of transactions completed during the period.
This quarter saw a typical hurricane season slow-down in issuance, with just $549 million of new risk capital brought to market, approximately 73% of which came from issuance of 144a property cat bonds, while three smaller private cat bonds made up the rest.
