Ursano joins TigerRisk to drive integrated reinsurance capital approach

Tony Ursano is joining reinsurance broker and risk capital advisory TigerRisk Partners LLC as President, in a role expected to help TigerRisk continue on its path as a capital agnostic intermediary with an integrated reinsurance and capital markets approach.

Ursano resigned recently from Willis Capital Markets & Advisory and has quickly taken on this role with TigerRisk, where he will help to grow the brokers business, while assisting to identify the most appropriate and efficient sources of capital and capacity for TigerRisk clients. Ursano will also help to build a mergers and acquisitions business for the firm.

Ursano will work from TigerRisk’s New York office. It will be interesting to see how the capital markets side of TigerRisk’s business develops as a result of this hire, as the firm has not been particularly active in sectors such as catastrophe bonds.

However TigerRisk does apply a capital agnostic approach for clients, seeking to match their risks with the best available forms of capacity, no matter the form or source. With the hire of Ursano the broker will no doubt seek to grow its capital markets and ILS practice.
