Blerina Essen, the Managing Director of UK-based lottery provider MyLotto24 and someone who worked on and sponsored some of the earliest lottery jackpot insurance-linked securities (ILS) transactions, is to consult and advise to gaming services provider RISQ on reinsurance and hedging.

Following an EUR 26.3 million jackpot prize won by one of its customers in a secondary lottery draw, lottery company MyLotto24 is set to benefit from the jackpot protection it has in place through its Hoplon III Insurance Ltd. insurance-linked securities (ILS) transaction.

The Hoplon II Insurance Ltd. lottery jackpot winnings catastrophe bond-type structure has now been successfully issued, securing the sponsor MyLotto24 a €50m collateralized source of insurance protection from the capital markets.

The Hoplon II Insurance Ltd. lottery jackpot winnings catastrophe bond-type structure has now had the pricing finalised for both tranches of jackpot risk-linked notes that are being issued on behalf of the sponsor MyLotto24.

The novel Hoplon Insurance Ltd. transaction, an insurance-linked securities (ILS) structure combined with collateralized reinsurance, has been expanded by sponsor MyLotto24. The groundbreaking deal now provides MyLotto24 with even more cover for exceptional jackpot winnings in their lotteries over the remainder of the deals term.
