Kingham to leave Willis Re for underwriting role at Aeolus Capital Management

Share

Well known reinsurance, retrocession and ILW broker Henry Kingham has resigned from his current role as Executive Vice President at Willis Re in Bermuda and is moving to take up an underwriting position at specialist reinsurance and ILS investment manager Aeolus Capital Management.

Sources told Artemis that the resignation took place very recently and Kingham will move to Aeolus Capital Management as soon as it can be arranged, subject to work permits.

Kingham, who has worked at reinsurance broker Willis Re since 2006 with a particular focus on retrocession and industry loss warranty (ILW) trading, will take up a senior underwriting position with Aeolus.

The fit is clear, given Aeolus’ specialism in the retrocession space and with Kingham’s relationships built up over the years his hire will be beneficial in creating deeper relationships with potential cedents.

Kingham is well-known in the ILS fund sector, working closely with many ILS fund managers and dealing with a significant amount of risk that is transferred to the capital markets on a collateralized basis.

Aeolus declined to comment on the matter.
