ILS Bermuda already planning Convergence 2014 event

ILS Bermuda, an organisation which brings together a number of key players based in, or with interests in, Bermuda and activities in the reinsurance convergence and insurance-linked securities (ILS) space, is planning its second event, Convergence 2014.

The organisations first event, Convergence 2013, was held in mid-November in Bermuda and attracted a 280 strong delegate list from the ILS, reinsurance convergence and capital market investor space. The event was deemed a success by attendees so the ILS Bermuda committee is now looking ahead to 2014 and how it can better the 2013 event.

The event was held in the heart of Hamilton in the newly renovated Pier 6 meeting venue and featured time for attendee networking and meetings, a number of educational sessions, a keynote speech from Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak, evening cocktail receptions and networking at the world-famous Bermuda Rugby Classic.

For 2014 the ILS Bermuda Committee hope to cement the Convergence event as a regular slot in the ILS markets calendar in the run up to the all-important January renewals.

The theme of the Convergence event is designed to promote insurance-linked securities (ILS) as a growing risk transfer market to the world as well as to showcase Bermuda as a centre of excellence for the convergence of reinsurance and capital markets under the banner of ILS.

There aren’t many events each year which focus on ILS and reinsurance convergence and this is a rare opportunity to be able to network with the leaders of this market as well as to learn more about its intricacies.
