Edward Johnson joins ILS specialist Leadenhall Capital Partners

Specialist insurance and reinsurance linked investment manager Leadenhall Capital Partners LLP has added a new hire in business development, with the announcement that Edward Johnson is joining the ILS manager from Aon Benfield Securities.

Leadenhall, with around $2 billion of insurance and reinsurance linked assets under management, has hired Edward Johnson to work in the Business Development team, under the Head of Business Development Lorenzo Volpi.

“We are delighted to welcome Edward Johnson to the Business Development Team and believe his knowledge of insurance linked investments will prove invaluable to our existing and prospective investors,” Volpi explained.

Johnson joins Leadenhall after more than three years with the Aon Benfield Securities team in London, where he advised on and structured catastrophe bonds, collateralised reinsurance and sidecars for a range of insurance and reinsurance cedants.

Before ABS, Johnson worked for actuarial consultancy Lane, Clark and Peacock within its insurance practice. Prior to that he worked for investment bank J.P. Morgan.

Johnson is an Associate of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, holds the Chartered Enterprise Risk Actuary designation and is a graduate of University College London.
