Convertible Share

Share that can be converted to another class (eg. debenture (fixed interest) to an ordinary share). This can be a solid investment strategy for an investor, as the fixed-income element provides a steady flow of income, while the option to convert the securities into ordinary stock provides the investor with an opportunity to benefit from any rise in share price.
