Flatiron Re sidecar details

The fully-collateralized Flatiron Reinsurance sidecar vehicle was launched via Arch Capital subsidiary, Arch Re Bermuda in 2006. The vehicle sees Arch cede property and property catastrophe reinsurance to the sidecar vehicle, which is sponsored by Goldman Sachs and Farallon Capital.

Flatiron Re was designed to assume a 45% quota share in certain lines of property and marine business underwritten by Arch. The reinsurance sidecar vehicle is entirely owned by outside investors, offering fully-collateralized property coverage exclusively to Arch.
