Willis Re, the recently launched reinsurance broker formed by WTW in a joint venture established with specialist private investment firm Bain Capital, has added another recognised specialist in broking property retrocession, with Richard Keegan joining the company in Bermuda.
As Willis Re continues to announce new joiners in recent days, it’s becoming clear the company has attracted a meaningful number of catastrophe reinsurance and retrocession specialists with experience broking to ILS fund and collateralized markets.
As we reported earlier this week, Willis Re announced the joining of recognised specialists in industry-loss warranty (ILW), ILS and property retro broking.
Today’s announcement from the company features another recognised Bermuda based property retrocession broking leader.
Richard Keegan has joined Willis Re after an almost decade long stint at Guy Carpenter.
Prior to accepting an offer from Willis Re, Keegan was the Head of Property Retro Bermuda at Guy Carpenter. He had joined that firm on the island in 2016 as an SVP.
Before that, Keegan had worked at Aon, where he had started his reinsurance and retrocession broking career in 2006.
Willis Re commented in its announcement that Keegan is, “widely recognized for his thoughtful approach, diligent account management and exceptional placement execution.”
Lucy Clarke, Willis Re Board Member, further stated, “Dickie brings to Willis Re a client focused approach, having built strong relationships across both buyers and markets.
