Vesttoo, the insurtech that uses proprietary artificial intelligence and machine learning to help companies assess and transfer risks to the capital markets, has announced another key hire, adding Well’s Fargo Securities insurance fixed income research leader Robert Hauff as Portfolio Manager for its Insurance-Linked Program (ILP) initiative.
Hauff was most recently the Managing Director of Fixed Income Research, Insurance and Financials at Wells Fargo Securities.
In that role he spent 17 years as the firm’s insurance industry expert, managing a team that conducted fixed income research for insurance and various financial subsectors.
He’s been hired by Vesttoo as Portfolio Manager for its new Insurance-Linked Program (ILP), which is designed to be a multi-billion security-based investment portfolio, focused on non-catastrophe insurance risks.
The ILP is Vesttoo’s first venture into raising capital to support the transactions the company structures and it’s an innovative way to help investors make their existing high-quality assets work harder for them, while pledging them as reinsurance collateral.

Hauff will be tasked with Hauff setting the investment strategy for the Insurance Linked Program (ILP) and overseeing day-to-day operations of the program.
He will also lead research for insurance-linked investment opportunities and serve as one of Vesttoo’s primary contact points for both client insurers and third-party investors.
