RenaissanceRe’s Capital Partners division saw its third-party investor capital under management surpass the $8 billion milestone for the first time ever, reaching $8.09 billion at June 30th 2025, which represents an increase of $940 million or 13% over the prior twelve months.

Driving home just how important the RenaissanceRe Capital Partners division has become to the global reinsurance firm, its CEO disclosed that the third-party and ILS capital management division has generated $700 million in fees for the business since the beginning of 2023.

RenaissanceRe, the Bermuda headquartered reinsurance company and third-party capital manager, has reported that its Capital Partners business generated record fee income from its range of joint ventures and insurance-linked securities (ILS) funds in the second-quarter of 2025, while profits shared with investors in the vehicles also rose to one of its highest levels ever.

Third-party investor capital under management at Bermudian global reinsurer RenaissanceRe’s Capital Partners division rose by roughly $770 million in the year to March 31st 2025, taking the total to a new high of $7.94 billion.

RenaissanceRe, the Bermuda based reinsurance firm and third-party capital specialist, is anticipating that its assets under management (AUM) across its joint-ventures and ILS funds will be “stable to up” over the rest of 2025, while fee income should resume its typical run-rate over the coming quarters.

RenaissanceRe, the Bermuda headquartered global reinsurer and third-party reinsurance capital manager, has built a “deep and persistent moat” around its fee income business, CEO Kevin O’Donnell believes, saying that demand from investors for access to its Capital Partners strategies is often greater than it can satisfy.

Over the twelve months to January 1st 2025, Bermudian global reinsurer and third-party reinsurance capital manager RenaissanceRe added $860 million in third-party assets to its range of joint-venture vehicles and ILS funds, taking overall third-party capital to $7.81 billion.

RenaissanceRe, the Bermuda based reinsurance company and third-party capital manager, has reported raising almost $238 million in additional third-party capital from investors for some of its ILS structures in time for the 1/1 renewal season, while over the course of 2024 investors benefited from strong earnings from joint-ventures and ILS funds.

Pension investment firm PGGM, allocating on behalf of end-client the Dutch pension fund PFZW, subscribed for an additional $175 million of shares in its RenaissanceRe managed joint-venture rated reinsurance underwriting vehicle Vermeer Re during the third-quarter of 2024.
