Management and oversight of the special purpose Lloyd’s of London syndicate 6129 joint venture, which is backed by insurance and reinsurance investment manager Securis Investment Partners, has been taken over by Bermudian re/insurer AXIS Capital, as the firm consolidates its responsibilities following its acquisition of Novae Group.

London and Lloyd’s specialty market insurance and reinsurance player Novae Group has continued to expand its excess & surplus lines property insurance in the first-half of this year, assisted by the provision of capacity from ILS investment manager Securis Investment Partners.

Bermudian insurance and reinsurance specialist AXIS Capital Holdings announced late yesterday that it is acquiring London and Lloyd’s specialty market player Novae Group for $604 million, in a deal that will help the firm broaden its activities with third-party capital providers.

London-based re/insurer Novae Group plc has continued to experience strong growth in excess & surplus lines property insurance, supported by third-party capital delivered through special purpose Lloyd’s of London syndicate 6129, which it launched in partnership with ILS investment manager Securis Investment Partners.

According to Novae Group plc, its launch of the “ground-breaking” special purpose Lloyd’s of London syndicate 6129 in partnership with ILS investment manager Securis Investment Partners has driven growth in U.S. E&S property business for the re/insurer.

Special purpose Lloyd’s of London syndicate 6129, which was launched last year by Novae Group plc in partnership with specialist insurance linked securities (ILS) and reinsurance investments manager Securis Investment Partners, helped to drive growth for the insurer in Q1 2016.
