MS Amlin has promoted Sarah Wilson to Head of Outwards Reinsurance, a role which will see her guide the strategic direction of the company’s reinsurance buying, potentially influencing engagement within the ILS market, particularly through the firm’s Phoenix Re sidecars.

As insurance-linked securities (ILS) continues to diversify and expand across Asia, MS Amlin, the Lloyd’s global insurer and reinsurer, remains committed to supporting the ongoing development of the market across the region, according to William Ho, CEO of MS Amlin Asia Pacific.

MS Amlin has now confirmed the expansion of its Phoenix Re securitized sidecar vehicle, lifting it to $115 million for the 2026 underwriting year, as the company continues with the insurance-linked securities strategy into its now sixth year.

MS Amlin is back in the market to place securitized notes under its Phoenix Re series of collateralized reinsurance sidecar deals, with a $24.5 million tranche of notes under its Singapore registered Special Purpose Reinsurance Vehicle named Phoenix 2 Re Pte. Ltd. so far, Artemis can reveal.

Re/insurer MS Amlin has sponsored a third capital market arrangement that provides it with Asian property catastrophe retrocessional protection and for 2023 the company has upsized its collateralised reinsurance sidecar arrangement, with Phoenix 3 Re Pte. Ltd. coming out at $45 million.
