Reinsurance broker JLT Towers Re is strengthening its capabilities in the reinsurance and capital markets advisory space with the appointment of Bart Zanelli as head of Advisory North America.

Reinsurance broker JLT Towers Re, which formed after JLT acquired the reinsurance brokerage business of Towers Watson last year, is launching its newly combined operations in Bermuda today.

The combined reinsurance brokerage unit created by Jardine Lloyd Thompson’s (JLT) acquisition of the Towers Watson reinsurance brokerage division, JLT Towers Re, has officially launched this week.

Not strictly on topic for Artemis, but a major breaking story in the reinsurance market, is the news that Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group plc (JLT) will be the firm to acquire the Towers Watson reinsurance brokerage business for a cash consideration of $250m.
