Accelerant Holdings achieved a further upsizing and extension of its Flywheel Re collateralized reinsurance sidecar in March 2026, with existing investors in the structure increasing commitments to support the firm’s continued growth and some new investors coming onboard.

Accelerant Holdings, the tech-focused company that helps its members exchange or transfer risk more effectively, while connecting them with long-term capital, has upsized and renewed its Flywheel Re collateralized reinsurance sidecar, securing meaningfully increased capital backing from core investor Barings, LLC in the process.

Since launching its Risk Exchange platform in 2023, Accelerant Holdings has positioned itself as a conduit between institutional capital and specialty insurance risk, offering what CEO Jeff Radke describes as one of the few opportunities for investors to gain “a fair slice of the whole book of business.”

Having launched a multi-year sidecar structure called Flywheel Re earlier this year, Accelerant now benefits from greater flexibility and the investor backing is supporting its growth, CFO Jay Green explained at the SIFMA ILS event in Miami last week.
