The market for aggregate reinsurance coverage remains “fraught” with a wide gap between bid and ask, Greg Hendrick, President and CEO of Vantage Risk has explained, but his firm still finds opportunity in that area of coverage, deploying capital through its AdVantage collateralized insurer class of company in 2025.

Vantage Risk, the Bermuda headquartered insurance and reinsurance company, has appointed Steve Fales as Senior Vice President, Investor Relations within its partner capital business, effective immediately.

The evolution of investor’s and capital’s view of opportunities in the insurance-linked securities (ILS) space has been particularly rapid over the last couple of years and Chris McKeown of Vantage Risk believes collateralized reinsurance opportunities and new lines of business are increasingly of interest.

In order to avoid disappointing investors and guarantee continued access to capital, the reinsurance and insurance-linked securities (ILS) industry needs to escape the market-cycle mindset and deal with the biggest threat it faces, which is inertia, according to Chris McKeown of Vantage Risk.

Rating agency AM Best has said that use of the AdVantage collateralized insurer class of company has helped Bermuda headquartered insurance and reinsurance firm Vantage Group to become more profitable, while also driving a source of accretive income.

Vantage Risk, the Bermuda headquartered insurance and reinsurance company, has made two leadership adjustments of relevance to the firm’s insurance-linked securities (ILS) strategy under its AdVantage collateralized insurer.

Rating agency AM Best has cited Vantage Risk’s insurance-linked securities (ILS) strategy, of moving catastrophe risk off its balance-sheet with the backing of third-party investor capital, as positive and able to drive income and reduce volatility.

Vantage Risk, the Bermuda headquartered insurance and reinsurance company, has put together close to $1 billion of capital for deployment into property catastrophe reinsurance opportunities around the 1/1 2023 renewals, using its AdVantage collateralized insurer class of company.

In working with third-party capital investors, Vantage Risk Ltd., the almost two year’s old Bermuda headquartered insurance and reinsurance company, sees it as important to help mitigate challenges investors have faced with traditional ILS products.
